Burts Bees Lip balm with Kokum butter and Burt's bees Tinted Lip Balm review

I know not the gadgety reviews you were expecting; well even us gadgety geeks need some beauty products. My girly side needs to escape sometimes.

My whole life I have been on a mission to find my perfect lip balm and lipstick as I have always been allergic to alot lip products.

Since I last reviewed my Burt's bees beeswax lip balm, I had finally found a product I could use for everyday soft lips.

But I wasn't quite there yet as I was still having to reapply every hour as my dry skin had got worse; this is nothing against the product this time, its me. As I have been on extra medication the last few months which has made my skin super dry and uncomfortable.

So after my success with the beeswax lip balm I decided to buy the Burt's bees Ultra conditioning, ultra revitalising lip balm and their tinted lip balm..Ive everything crossed as it will be the first time Ive been able to wear lippy in years if this works.
I bought mine from Chemist Direct but you can also buy directly from
Burt's Bee site as they have more variety of flavours and products.

Burts bees products are nice and simple, nothing is spent on pish packaging its all natural and quite basic. Im fine with this as I'd rather pay for the product not whats round it.

Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm with Kokum butter

NEW colourless 100% natural and cruelty-free.
Produced in the same Burt's bees style packaging but in silver, cream and white, giving a more clinical feel to it.
This is for those like me who suffer with more extreme dry or chapped lips. Its clinically proven to offer 4 hours of long lasting moisturisation as it is infused with ultra hydrating Kokum, Shea, and cocoa butters.
It offers more butters and less wax than other balms replenishing your skin with no added fragrances or flavors.
This is great for people who are "lergic" like me. ;-)

Kokum Butter
I hadn't even heard of this Kokum butter before this and its certainly something I will be looking out for in my beauty creams from now on.

The Kokum tree produces kiwi sized fruit that is loade with fatty acids and antioxidants.A quarter of the Kokum seed is composed of oil. Its emollient properties make Kokum butter perfect for lotions, lip balms and soaps. Its an excellent moisturizer as well as supporting the skins elasticity.

Here are the ingredients to this little gold mine and just take a peek at how many natural ingredients are in this tiny stick.

Ingredients: cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed wax, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, olus (vegetable oil, huile vegetale), cera alba (beeswax, cire d'abeille), sclerocarya birrea seed oil, soybean glycerides, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, garcinia indica seed butter*, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter) unsaponifiables, cymbopogon martini oil, citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) oil, salvia sclarea (clary) oil, tocopherol, myroxylon pereirae (balsam peru) oil, vanilla planifolia fruit extract, illicium verum (anise) fruit/seed oil, cananga odorata flower oil, glycine soja (soybean) oil, citric acid, geraniol, linalool, benzyl benzoate. *Kokum Butter

Its not often Im amazed with a beauty product especially one that didnt mean I had to mortgage the car. As soon as I applied this to my lips the soothing balm melted immediately and despite using the normal Burt's bees lip balm (which had gotten me over the worst). I still had wind dry lips and was stinging a bit every time I applied the original one with the peppermint oil.
BUT as soon as this one melted on my skin I waited for the sting and instead it gave me immediate not kidding this felt amazing straight away. It isnt minty or strong tasting; its has a nice natural simple hardly there taste to it, if anything it has a faint lemony taste. Perfect for those of you who really don't like mint or flavored balms.
Unlike the Beeswax balm which is highly minty and instantly cold and refreshing on your lips. This Ultra is super soothing when your lips are really cracked and dry.
TIP:The only downfall is not to eat anything flakey, like pastry or sugary products as it will stick to your lips lol ;-)

 Here you see my three balms together. left to right is;

Burts Bees Beeswax lip balm
This has more drag across your lips and is slower to melt but most certainly still worked when my lips were not quite as bad.The peppermint did make my lips sting as they were badly chapped.
If your lips are not cracked-dry this will be enough for everyday use.

The Ultra conditioning lip balm
Melted and soothed instantly it touched my skin, my lips had become quite chapped with the cold windy weather since reviewing the Burts Bees Beeswax lip balm and with some change in medication I am quite dehydrated.
I do have to stress this is in no way putting down the Bees wax balm, it had worked better than any lip balm or lipstick I have ever used but simply wasn't strong enough for how dry my skin was.

Burts Bees tinted lip balm
A hint of colour with a soft sweet flavor and all 100% natural ingredients.
This goes on smoothly and melts as it kits your skin; not quite as fast as the met-rate of the Ultra but quicker than the original.
Faint hint of colour gives your lips a healthy glow and slight shine as well as lasting for several hours.

I chose pink blossom and it leaves a very slight colour hint on the skin, nothing like the bright colour you see above; (this can be really deceiving). Again instant moisturisation and it feels nourishing which lasts for several hours.
I love this colour and will be investing in some more shades as soon as possible.

I love that Burt's bees package this coloured balm in this dinky cardboard tube; again nothing that will cost us as the consumers a fortune. Its recyclable and easy to throw in your bag.

The pink inner cardboard tube has this printed on it; which is a lovely touch.

The same as the rest simply twist the base to use and reverse to put away.

Available in ten flirty shades – Hibiscus, Honeysuckle, Tiger Lily, Pink Blossom, Red Dahlia, Rose, Sweet Violet, Blush Orchid, Petunia, and Caramel Daisy.

Featured Ingredient- Shea Butter (butyrospermum parkii) —

This natural fat obtained from the fruit of the karite tree is a valuable, nourishing addition to moisturizers for the reduction of wrinkles and to improve the elasticity of the skin and protect it against environmental aging.

Ingredients: cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, olus (vegetable oil, huile vegetale), cera alba (beeswax, cire d'abeille), olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, candelilla cera (euphorbia cerifera wax, cire de candelilla), helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, aroma (flavor)*, lanolin, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, cananga odorata flower wax, jasminum officinale (jasmine) flower wax, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, tocopherol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza). May contain: alumina, CI 77891 (titanium dioxide), CI 75470 (carmine), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (iron oxides). *natural flavor

Will add more piks soon on the lips.

I loved this Ultra revitalising lip balm, it melted and soothed instantly and I have to say I was really suffering with sore lips for days. I was hopping up and down waiting for this to arrive and Im so glad I plumped for this one.
My lips now feel like Ive just eaten sweetcorn with lashings of butter, it has the gentle buttery smooth feel and leaves a slight sheen. Nothing too gloopy or runny; unless you hold the balm on your lips too long then it will run a bit. You only need just 1-2 swipes across, that's all you need.
It lasts for approx 2-3 hours for me; before having to reapply it. They claims 4 hours but then Ive only been using this for 48 hours. I will update this later on.

The Tinted Lip balm is absolutely gorgeous, instant mosturisation, not at all gloopy and lasts for 3-4 hours. Its not a strong colour its a hint of only; perfect for everyday or jobs your not allowed to wear lipstick like nursing. It gives the lips a healthy glow and shine as well as keeping the skin nourished. Its a great alternative to heavy lip colours, stains or sticks.

I will be keeping both the Ultra and the tinted balm in my hand bag at all times now and will make sure I never run out.
Burt's bees is my little lippy gold mine..thank you!

Yay I have finally found lip products I can use and finally I have kissable lips again, no more hiding behind my hand when talking...woohoo!
